Biography
Clémentine Abed Meraim is a Scientific Assistant in the research team of Prof. Elliott Ash. Following two years of French scientific preparatory classes, Clémentine enrolled at ENSAE, an engineering school specializing in economics and statistics. She completed a Master's degree in Economics and Statistics from ENSAE and a Master in Economics from the Institut Polytechnique de Paris.
During her studies, Clémentine completed three internships. The first involved NLP research at Sciences Po's Médialab Research Laboratory, exploring the link between digital media and society. Her second internship was with the French Treasury, analyzing the redistributive effects of indirect taxation policies. She also worked as a research assistant at CREST on the effects of the revalorisation of the Prime d'Activité on the dynamics of the Gilets Jaunes movement in France.
Research Interests
Clémentine is particularly interested in applying methods from econometrics and machine learning, especially text analysis, to investigate questions in political economy.
Her primary research focus revolves around the intricate interplay between politics, public policy, and media discourse. Her enthusiasm lies in studying the complex links of these interactions in the context of redistribution policies or political unrest.
